Origins of Pistachio
The pistachio is a dry fruit already enjoyed in 7000 BC., produced by a Mediterranean shrub, this is one of the oldest nuts tree. Pistachios are introduced in France in the 17th century, known as Persian Almond. Iran is the world’s largest producer of pistachio, with nearly 40 % of world production. The harvest takes place in September.
The benefits of Pistacio for health
Pistachio offers over 30 vitamins including vitamin E and minerals. This is one of the lowest in calories nuts (3-4 calories per pistachio), it is low in fat and high in fiber. Pistachio reduces stress, due to the large number of antioxidants, it also contains magnesium, known for its anti -stress because it helps to regulate blood pressure.
